Ibis Mojo HD EVO Project

Ibis Mojo HD

As my riding preferences change, my Ibis Mojo HD changes as well towards more gravity oriented riding.

Ibis Mojo HD actual build (end 2012)

So far I'm halfway to my dream build for the next season:

Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD Ibis Mojo HD

Changes made since V1: Handlebar: Burgtec Ridewider bars 780mm
Stem: Sunline V1 50mm
Brakes: Shimano Saint
Tires: Continental Rubber Queen 2,2" UST
Cranks: Shimano XTR single chainring 32t
Chain guide: MRP G2
Front derailleur: removed
Shock: RockShox Vivid R2C coil (400lbs coil) M/M tune
Weight: 14kg

Actual weight is little bit higher, but shock performance is night and day compared to previous air shock. Bike pedals even better, no propedal is needed and it doesn't give its travel when it isn't really needed. Surprisingly bottom out control is very good despite it being really simple. I will get it retuned to lower compression during the next service though.

Additional planned changes:
Fork: Marzocchi 55 RC3 EVO V.2 TITANIUM 170mm
Shock: Titanium spring
Headset: Cane Creek Angleset (-1deg)
Brake rotors: 203mm
Rear derailleur: Shimano Saint short cage 10spd
Shifter: Shimano Saint
Cassette: 10spd 11-36t
Wheels: Syntace W35 MX
Target weight: 14kg

Coil fork will add ±350g which will be compensated for by a Ti coil. 170mm fork (555 AC height) will change the head angle to 66.5deg (Fox AC height is 545mm). Angleset will slacken the head angle even more to 65.5deg and it will also decrease the stack heigh by about 10mm.

That is a gorgeous bike. I’ve never even heard of Ibis, but I’m already in love. I also have been thinking of converting to a single up front as well and this website was helpful in making that decision. One question about your bike though.. What is that cable that runs along the top tube up to your seat??
